✸ October Blessings and Warnings ✸

Hello you lovely people~

It’s Halloween season y’all!! If you can’t tell already, Halloween is my absolutely favourite ‘holiday’ of the year. While Hong Kongers don’t usually celebrate it (other than as bookaween for kids and as an excuse to get drunk), my family goes all out for it — we don’t even celebrate Chinese New Year or Christmas as seriously.

We like to make wacky coloured pasta, eat bowls of rum raisin ice cream, drink this concoction (potion) of blackcurrant jelly in grape Fanta soda, all the while watching Nightmare Before Christmas or Practical Magic (depending on that night’s mood). Not to mention I have been dressing up for nearly every Halloween of my life, minus 2-3 years of teenage rebellion.

Anyway, I’m back with another pick-a-card reading for October, thank you again for all the support and lovely messages from last month’s pick-a-card! Do let me know if anything from the last month came true (or if it didn’t resonate, let me know too!)

And now onto your reading!

✸ PICK A CARD PILE TO FIND OUT YOUR BLESSINGS AND WARNINGS FOR OCTOBER 2020 ✸

Please pick with intention and intuition.

If you’re picking a card halfheartedly, it’s not going to work honey.

How to pick a card with intention: Think to yourself or ask out loud, ‘What are the blessings and warnings I need to know for October 2020” then pick the one that draws you in the most, maybe it’s the crystal on top that attracts you, maybe it’s a particular scratch on a card.

✸ INTERPRETATIONS ✸

If you had picked the CITRINE (yellow gemstone) …

The cards (left to right): Strength, the Sun, Three of Cups, Judgement, the Star, the Sun, & the Emperor.

It is a wild, wild ride for all of us in the next coming months. We haves two full moons in the beginning and end of October and I think someone said something about eclipses in November and December? I’m also pretty sure we’re ending the year with yet another full moon. But friends, if you chose this yellow Citrine stone, the theme for October is manifestation and re-evaluation. The beginning of October brings about issues with your friends and acquaintances, it’s time to consider which ones you should keep and which ones to let go. The filtering won’t be too difficult as Three of Cups and the Sun reference back to childhood trauma — perhaps you were caught in a bullying situation; something at the beginning of this month will remind you of that period and help you sort through those people who don’t deserve to keep your friendship. It is time to set those boundaries for yourself.

Towards mid and late October, you are feeling the exhaustion from September — I’m getting this feeling that some of you may have been chasing a dream of sorts, perhaps you’ve taken up painting again or something that your parents disapproved of as a career, just something unconventional and usually financially unstable. You’ve been finding time between work or school and everything life has to offer to pursue this dream and it is the exhaustion from that which you’re feeling in your bones right now. But as I said, for you friends, the power of manifestation is siding with you. Citrine stones are known to aid in making dreams a reality, where as the Emperor is offering you the resources to make this dream a possible beginning. Again, it won’t be easy work, as Judgement will offer you a trial in which she will choke you so you can learn to breathe on your own. But at least, it is finally not just a figment of your imagination.

If you had picked the MOONSTONE (milky white gemstone) …

The cards (left to right): Six of Cups, the Wheel of Fortune, the Hanged Man, Justice, the Hermit, the High Priestess, & the Lovers.

My lovely friends you are at the cusp of change. Seems like you’ve been mulling over this decision to change for a while now too, given all these intuitive cards spread out in this pile (also the milky moonstone is also a stone of intuition). For some of you I could feel that it is a personal growth and yet for others this may be regarding a long-term partner, but either way you’ve been holding onto the past for far too long, let them be memories of what your relationship used to be or a certain nostalgia for when you peaked in high school. But this longing merely refers to your dissatisfaction with the present. Maybe there’s nothing objectively wrong with your current situation, but if you’re not truly happy then what’s the point? The cards show a strong hesitation to take that step because you’re afraid that you might lose what you already have or that things won’t turn out for the better and you’ll just be stuck in this exact same situation again, but at the same time you’re struggling because rationally you know that this is a mindset you have to let go.

Luckily for you, this isn’t a win-all, lose-all case (it never really is, if I have to be honest), you won’t be giving up your current situation because maybe, just maybe, all you really needed is a new perspective to take that final step. Just listen your intuition, to the not-creepy voice in your head and your gut to lead you onto the right path. October asks for you to trust your instincts so use this month’s harvest moon (1-2 October) to manifest that new perspective and the blue moon (31 October) to communicate what you need to yourself and/or your partner.

Note: This is also an extremely complicated pile to read because there were several messages coming through so I’ve just selected the more general ones. If you’d like more specific details, you can always book a reading with me to find out more

If you had picked the ROSE QUARTZ (pink gemstone) …

The cards (left to right): Ace of Cups, Nine of Pentacles, Knight of Swords, the Fool, the Hierophant, the Tower, & Death.

The cards (left to right): Ace of Cups, Nine of Pentacles, Knight of Swords, the Fool, the Hierophant, the Tower, & Death.

The moment I flipped these cards over, there was basically a neon sign that screamed ‘LOVE’ so I’m assuming most of you who are picking this is in a bit of a pickle regarding your relationship(s). For those who are single or have nothing to worry about regarding matters of the heart, this can still hold some messages for you. The narrative in this spread is simple, you’ve gotten out of an unhealthy circumstance (toxic partners, communication issues, or even just a bad habit of sorts.etc) and finally realising that you deserve better even though the metaphorical break-up might have been messy and exhausting. Perhaps this person had been someone you had expected to marry or that this circumstance was something (a career, perhaps?) that you had imagined for yourself so it was the mental process of letting it go that had been challenging for you. But at the same time, this ‘break up’ will also bring you relief because there’s a new adventure waiting for you~!

Your future is limitless but it may also come with a tendency to just smell the flowers and enjoy the scenery. Focus becomes secondary after finally being free from your previous cycle. While there is nothing wrong with relaxing and taking care of yourself, the Harvest Moon in Aries (1-2 October) impose a fiery almost impulsive energy for this coming month — you might as well ride that wave of fire to pursue that crush of yours or apply for that job that you’ve been eyeing for the past year!

NOTE: I also would like to say that for some of you the new person/circumstance could also be the same person/circumstance you ‘broke up’

As always (helmet time), tarot readings are only indicators of what is currently ahead of you and you can always have that choice (free will) to make the changes in your life — your destiny lies in your hands. Also this is a extremely general reading that uses three decks so take what you find relevant and ignore messages if they don’t sound right. I hope these readings were able to help in some way whether it was to bring you some comfort or clarity regarding your situation. If any of these messages resonated with you (or not), do let me know in the comments below! I love hearing from you.

If you would like, I am always happy to read for you — you can always reach me via email or whatsapp (+852 63313120) but due to financial circumstances, I will be increasing prices starting October (don’t worry, I will be keeping them affordable but also be providing pricier options for those who want it).

I hope you’re all doing well, and that you’re staying safe and healthy.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and a happy early Halloween,

Charlotte

P.S. Decks used in this month’s reading are; the Affirmators! Tarot Deck, the Universal Celtic Tarot Deck (Halloween is a Celtic festival according to my boyfriend), and the prototype of my self-illustrated tarot deck (four more cards left and I’ll be launching a Kickstarter!)
