Hello, it’s been a while hasn’t it? How have you been? Are you eating well? Have you spent time with your loved ones? Are you happy with where you are right now?
As I write this, I look out the window to this gigantic lush tree full of bird feeders, which blocks out the hustle and bustle of the main street. Across from it, a friendly crow is perched atop the roof of the local pharmacy. The crow is here every day between 9am and 8pm, flying off to wherever its nest is before the night sets in. Maybe I can befriend it at some point during my stay here in London.
For the past four months, I’ve been packing, repacking, travelling, and packing again — all just to figure out where I wanted to settle. In late June, I finally arrived in London. I now live in a quaint little three-bedroom maisonette in the suburbs, with my friend Yiting and her boyfriend Jack.
For those who’ve heard of my earlier plans of moving to Dublin with my partner, and are curious about the sudden change — we have now only shortened our long distance to accommodate my scouting for my parents’ future move to the UK. I’ve moved a little closer towards love.
I cannot help but feel that my relocation to London was meant to be: contrary to the usual new Londoner settling period, we found this ‘house’ and signed the lease on it all in under a month; I applied, interviewed for, and got offered a job that was nearly the same one I had in Hong Kong in just two weeks; and I’ve managed to memorise most of the tube lines to ensure that I can get home even without internet. In a week, I somehow found it in myself to clean the hidden mould in my bedroom ceiling, repaint half of my room with anti-mould paint and standard paint, and even build all the IKEA furniture in it by myself.
And after months of feeling uninspired, I started painting again.
This past month in London has been one of my life's most peaceful, stress-free times — even the gradual clearing up of my psoriasis is a testament to that fact.
Before I start my new job next week, I just wanted to hop on here and let you know that I’ll be reopening shop next week for tarot readings, and digital downloads. If you’ve been itching for a reading, you can also message me early and we can slot you in before the waitlist gets too long.
As a bit of a teaser, I am also finally tackling a few backlogged projects for the latter half of the year and hope to release a monthly rolling tarot reading course. Hopefully, I can also share a tester of the class soon and maybe some of you might be interested in being my guinea pigs for a session or two?
Anyway, that’s me for now, I’ll be back with a more extensive update in early August with the return of the monthly astrology tarot readings.
Lots of love,
Charlotte
