Frequently Asked Questions
Art
What supplies do you use?
I experiment with various mediums from watercolour, charcoal, acrylic, oil, pastel.etc But I usually stick with watercolour because it’s the most convenient, especially given my time schedule.
In terms of the specific brands, I like to try out all sorts of colours which I collect during my travels but if I’m looking for a certain shade, I usually get a Holbein watercolour tube for replacements (also because it’s relatively more affordable and I’ve been using their colours since I was nine so I have most of the colour chart ingrained in my mind).
How long have you been painting?
I’ve been painting since I was a toddler, when my mom stuck a pencil in my hand and asked me to dot the eyes, nose and mouth on a circle.
TAROT READING
Where did you learn tarot reading? Will you teach classes?
I am mostly self-taught, though whenever I run into issues I would consult my aunt who also used to read tarot cards.
I am planning to teach tarot reading to everyone who buys my deck of tarot cards, I will announce details when I am ready.
What decks do you use?
I currently use the two tarot and Lenormand decks I made, L’OEil de L’Ame Tarot, and the Gwai Lenormand.
Do you provide other witchcraft services?
No. For now I only provide tarot reading which you can book a session with me either through my shop or by contacting me directly.
CAREER
Are you a full tine artist / tarot reader?
No, I work as the Assistant Librarian at iniva (Institute of International Visual Arts). Painting and tarot reading are my side hustles I do on weekends and weeknights.
Did you study studio art in university? What did you study?
I didn’t do studio art in university, I graduated with an English and Art History (Fine Arts) double major from the University of Hong Kong. You can read more about my experience here.
Miscellaneous
Is your Chinese name really 梅傲雪? Is it a pen name?
Yes it’s my real name, it’s on my passport and ID card. My grandmother and mom named me.
