#03 Cloud

If she had a choice, she would have loved to play on the swings and slides with her friends. But she didn’t. She didn’t have any friends.

Instead, she would lie down in the secluded corner in the school playground, and stare at the clouds. They became her friends instead. There was a dinosaur who loved to steal whatever snacks the girl was eating. A ponytailed genie who told her about the tantrums the moon threw at the sun. An ice cream cone whose flavour changes every few seconds but always has just a hint of cotton candy. The girl loved the clouds, but they never stayed for long.

She got used to the fleeting friendships and moments when it's time for them to go.

The girl learned to always say goodbye because sometimes you don't get to.
