Just in Case is a library display that highlights a selection of new arrivals in AAA’s Library Collections by artists, artist collectives, and art practitioners.
The project invites six of these artists—amongst them Sin Wai Kin, Michael Leung, and otto—to develop a display idea in collaboration with AAA.
Just in Case unfolds in two chapters, each featuring three displays by three artists or artist collectives. Each display showcases a publication along with related materials such as sketches, notes, props, and memorabilia, and with reflections upon the work and the artistic processes behind independent publications.
The focus on Hong Kong–based artists, artist collectives, and art practitioners enquires into the histories of Hong Kong art, offering insights into the relationship between artists, art initiatives, and self-publishing, and the methods that artists use to illustrate and explore micronarratives in the city.
